Twice a year, Christal hosts her Team Events! These are themed events for the community to participate in and bond over. One happens during the summer, and the other occurs during the winter.
During the event, you are put into one of two teams. Each team works together in a series of Events like: Weekly Assignments, Bounty Boards, Game Nights, Minecraft, and Overwatch! If you don't want to do any of that, then showing up to stream and cheering on your team works too!
How Can I Participate?
Weekly Assignments
Each week, there will be a weekly assignment that goes out to both teams. There are many ways to help out with these! Some folks decide that they help best by helping out with brainstorming, others help out by making the presentation so that Christal and the community can see the results of all that hard work on stream!
Examples of some of the assignments include: Making a team banner, coming up with a team chant, designing a team OC, writing a prompt based letter exchange, creating a Pokémon based on your team, etc.
All of this work is done in collaboration with your teammates!
Bounty Boards
Bounty Boards are a recent addition to the Events! There are four levels of difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Legendary. Each week, you'll see the bounties refresh - so make sure to keep an eye out!
Bounties are a great way to earn points for your team! We have bounties that range from coming up with a Discord profile layout, all the way to showing up to every game night. This is a great way to help out your team if you feel like the Weekly Assignments aren't for you! This event, we'll have the bounties listed out by the category type to make it easier
Each bounty gets submitted to the team's bounty claim channel in the Discord! When the maximum number of times a bounty can be claimed is reached, an announcement is made to prevent anyone from accidentally claiming a bounty that's already fully completed.

Game Nights
During the Events, Christal will host game nights! These can be custom Overwatch games and even Jackbox games. Only folks who are participating in the bi-annual event are allowed to join, and playing in these games during game nights will earn points for your team!
Don't worry if you're not a top 500 player, we have folks of all ranks and sizes! We do ask those who are Diamond Rank and higher to play off role and to avoid playing their mains as the purpose of the event is for fun.
Minecraft
One of the major parts that the community looks forward to, is the Minecraft Creation part! This is where your team comes together and creates something that your team identifies with in Creative Mode. Some teams will use their team lore to create a village, and some teams will come together and create an amusement park! The only limit is your imagination and the 30 minute presentation limit for when Christal and the judges look through your creation on stream.
Keep in mind, there are multiple people working on the build - so communication is important! Each team will have a dedicated channel to discuss things for their Minecraft section.
Overwatch Tournament
Each Event, there is an Overwatch Tournament that happens! Each Team will get together to form sub-teams based on a point value system to make sure that it's fair across the board. In order to form a team, you'll reach out to your fellow Event Teammates and use the provided chart.

Once a team is formed, you'll submit your team to the #teamname-ow-team-submission channel in the Discord server. Each member of your team must react with the thumbs-up emoji to show the staff team that every member agrees to be on that team. If you are unsure how to write that submission post, no worries! There will be an example team submission for you to use. As a reminder, only one person needs to submit the team!
After the first two and a half weeks pass, we'll close team submissions and start putting together the seedings for the brackets. These seedings will be based on the maximum point total of each sub-team submitted! There are two ways the brackets can go from there.
The first is whether there is an even number of sub-teams submitted by each Event Team! It'll be a simple tree bracket similar to the ones we've done in previous events.
The second is whether there is an odd number of sub-teams submitted between the Event Teams. (Example: Team A has 4 teams signed up, and Team B has 7.) Then we'll have a losers' bracket.

The map pool is pre-determined by the staff team! The starting Control maps will change for each event. The games are a Best of 5 format, and each of the 5 games is a map type. Under those map types is a list of Maps that the losing team of the previous game can choose from.
